The Data Management Plan (DMP) is a strategic document that charts the course for comprehensive data management within the RE-INTEGRATE project, a Horizon Europe initiative dedicated to fostering climate-compatible energy strategies through a unique partnership between the African Union (AU) and the European Union (EU). RE-INTEGRATE’s objectives, ambitious in scope and global in reach, necessitate a robust and carefully considered approach to data, ranging from the intricate numerical outputs of energy systems models, often formatted as CSV files, to the nuanced qualitative insights captured in stakeholder consultation transcripts and policy documents, typically stored as PDFs. Effective data management is therefore not simply an administrative overhead, but a critical enabler, ensuring that the wealth of data generated becomes a valuable and trusted resource for the project and the wider community.
